It was just confirmed that in a little over a week Apple will announce its newest products. As usual people are eagerly awaiting what those could be and with rumors floating around since months already, it seems like we might have a good understanding of what is coming. Next to the smaller iPad Pro, the new small 4-inch iPhone is the most anticipated announcement. A smaller iPhone is interesting for several reasons – not everybody wants to go big with their phone, and of course a smaller iPhone will also cost less money and therefore open the platform to a larger market. What do we know so far about the phone:
– The new iPhone will be called iPhone SE, with SE standing for “Special Edition.”
– What will it look like? Pretty much like the iPhone 5 S, but the edges of the screen will be adapted to the iPhone 6 and will therefore be rounded. Color options will apparently include gold, silver, space gray and rose gold.
– Apparently the iPhone SE will pack the same processor as the iPhone 6 and 6 S, making it a very fast phone.
– In terms of storage a 16GB and a 64GB version is expected, but no 128GB version.
– Since the camera is among the most important features in the iPhone today, Apple is apparently adding one of its best cameras ever to the SE. You can expect similar quality to the iPhone 6.
– The iPhone SE comes without 3D touch.
– But it will come with Apple Pay, as it will include both NFC and Touch ID technology.
– The phone will be cheaper than the iPhone 6, but of course not cheap. A $399 and $499 price tag is expected.
– The iPhone SE could release just days after the announcement, with March 25 being a possible drop date.
