Currently the list includes less than 150 games, but Microsoft have pledged to continue to add more as time goes on.
They’ve set up its own section on the official Xbox website and have also found it a way to boost interest in the new Xbox Games with Gold deals every month.
For a lot of next-gen owners though, the release of some of the most requested games on Xbox One Backward Compatibility is a priority.
The Microsoft team gave fans a chance to vote on what they’d like to see featured in the BC program, but only one has been confirmed from the top ten so far.
This includes: Black Ops 2, Skyrim, Red Dead Redemption, Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, Modern Warfare, Modern Warfare 3, World at War, Mass Effect 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Black Ops is the only game that has been confirmed and is yet to have been given a release date for Xbox One.
However, there could be some exciting news on the horizon.
Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC has reportedly appeared as available to download on the Xbox One, while other much sought-after titles have also been spotted.
Red Dead Redemption is reportedly going to be downloadable soon, although this is yet to be confirmed by either Rockstar or Microsoft.
The popular 360 title is not the only one to be linked with the Backward Compatibility program in recent times – Left 4 Dead 2 has also been linked with a launch on Xbox One.
A screenshot shared from an Xbox One user appears to show everyone's favourite zombie game installing on the Xbox One games menu, sending gamers into a frenzy.
And while Left 4 Dead 2 may have missed out on the top ten most requested titles - eleventh isn’t bad going - it would go a long way to show Xbox fans that Microsoft are dedicated to bringing some of the most wanted title to the Backward Comp program.
Also Microsoft have promised more games will be added to the program soon
